A little about me first...

Prior to joining AWS in 2020, I spent over 15 years working both in IT departments and consulting for large companies deploying EUC technologies. It all started in college when I saw a very old Macintosh connected to a Windows NT Terminal Server, and I struggled to comprehend how that was even possible. My first 'real' IT job was working for a software company that made a legacy Windows application for the advertising industry. Customers required an IT department to deploy the required infrastructure to maintain our application, and I thought with Terminal Server we could make that overhead go away. I never considered terms like SaaS and the Cloud at the time, but that's exactly where my career would find me.
Years later I would learn and deploy Citrix Metaframe XP and launch my first Windows XP VM on a VMware ESXi host. But the real discovery was being introduced to the EUC community on Twitter and the lively discussions that made this more than just a job. I was fortunate to attend both independent and vendor conferences throughout the years and engage with this community, so I wholeheartedly appreciate the impact a strong EUC community contributes for everyone, especially our users.

My Goal - grow our Community

As the Worldwide Technical Leader for EUC here at AWS, one of the most important goals I have is to grow this community. That means regardless of whether you work for AWS, work for a partner or customer that builds on AWS, or just have a general passion for this, I am here to engage and promote your questions and contributions. We are just getting started, but we already have some great articles published which I invite you to check out through the EUC tag. If you would like to contribute, you can comment on any of these posts or even create your own article (please tag with EUC!).

We're also on YouTube

Additionally, we started a playlist on AWS's YouTube Channel that dives deep into technical how-tos. Reading administrative guides isn't for everyone, so we're doing our best to bring the content directly to you in ways that work best for you.

Blogs are still a thing

Lastly, our Desktop and Application Streaming blog channel remains continues to receive updates. The focus for that blog will be primarily around new releases and campaigns that we are featuring, such as our unique agreement with Microsoft to offer Microsoft 365 support with Amazon WorkSpaces.

Don't forget re:Invent

If you'll be at re:Invent in Las Vegas this December 2-6, feel free to stop by the EUC Booth as I'll be there almost all the time - I invested in very comfortable Sketchers to guarantee it. We've got some great sessions you can browse in the catalog regardless of registration. Make sure you select 'End-User Computing' from the Topic to view only EUC sessions. Don't worry if you can't make some of them, each one has repeats. If you really want to get your 'hands dirty,' may I recommend checking out EUC201 and EUC202 for some hands on building sessions.

Let's talk!

Feel free to comment below, even if it's just "hello". I'm excited to connect, and especially excited to see what we all share here. I can't wait to promote your efforts, because there's a lot of folks building things we at AWS never considered with the WorkSpaces Family of services.
