My re:Invent 2024 journey began even before landing in Las Vegas. On the flight, I had the chance to chat with Prasad Rao. Wow, what a luck to see him. He shared his experiences from previous re:Invent conferences and how the event has grown over the years. It was amazing to hear these stories firsthand and even better to meet him in person.
I was also seated next to Shalil 'Sam' SHALIL and our friendly conversation made the journey feel effortless. We talked about a mix of topics, and before I knew it, the flight was over. Thank you, Sam, for such a pleasant chat.
Once I arrived at re:Invent, the magic of connecting with the AWS community only grew. Chatting with AWS representatives at the expo hall, discussing tech challenges during peer talks, or listening to answers from attendees during sessions—every interaction added a new dimension to the experience.
A special thank you to Alastair Bate, his ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms or dive deep when needed was truly brilliant. He even helped me grasp a concept or two there. I highly recommend him!
During the speed mentoring, I enjoyed talking to Jun Zhang. It was an absolute delight to share a laugh together and I felt inspired as I listened to his personal journey.
I was also so happy to see the friendly face of John Oshodi. 😎 He is always upbeat, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Thank you for our interesting conversation before boarding the plane back home.
I deeply appreciated the patience and kindness shown by everyone I met at re:Invent.
As I reflect on my journey so far, I’m grateful for the conversations I’ve had, starting from the airplane to the expo floor. These connections are not only helpful professionally but also build a sense of belonging to a global community.
