Drill down on Amazon Bedrock costs with AWS Cost Explorer

It is important to monitor and be able to drill down on costs related to your account when comes to usage of Amazon Bedrock models. Here's a quick step-by-step tutorial to get you there:

Step 1 - Search for cost explorer on the AWS console

this should open the default report. Let's focus on the right sidebar:

Step 2 - Use filters to select Service > Bedrock and Usage Type > select a model metric

Here, after selecting Service-bedrock, we select Haiku input and output tokens:

You can also select appropriate tags if relevant.

Step 3 - Remember to Group by usage type if you have multiple models selected, and a date range

You now see an overall cost as well as cost per model

You can also output a detailed CSV breakdown:

And that's it!
