My First Q Web Game

creating a web game in minutes

Published Jun 9, 2025
Chanced upon this one day and I am excited to try out Amazon Q for development. Before I go into what I tried, maybe let me share a bit of my background. An engineer by training and a very early developer of websites, along the lines of coding in native html, scripting languages like PHP and MySQL. That was like 20 years ago. The last I recall doing any coding was like 15 years back. So today, my role professionally does not require me to do any coding but only to review the finished product as an end-user.
Thus when this chance to try out Amazon Q to create a game got me excited. So here is my journey.
Following the instructions to get Amazon Q started is pretty easy. Just opening Windows Powershell and typing in the exact instructions as per given within the article guide "The essential guide to installing Amazon Q Developer CLI on Windows". Within minutes I saw my very own Amazon Q window!
Getting Q to develop the game was just a breeze. I gave instructions to develop a web game for security officers to learn on how to handle security situations. Instantly, I got my first cut of the game. What amazes me is not about this game development but how Q interacted.
Q proposes some enhancements to the game and in order to implement those enhancements, all I do was to respond naturally and provide the t to Q for going ahead. Q even added images for me!
The experience of using Q for development works was just amazing. The depth of consideration and guidance coupled with suggestions and enhancement tips made it a very enjoyable process of developing the web game. Guess, now, I am ready to head back into developing my own again!
