I’m a big fan of podcasts—I like listening to them when I’m driving, doing chores around the house, or even when I’ve just had enough of screens but want to listen to something engaging. Whether they’re comedians who make me laugh (Conan O’Brian Needs a Friend) or tech topics I enjoy learning about (Hard Fork), I just really like the medium and the ability to learn, laugh, or be inspired from anywhere. Another favorite is the AWS Developers Podcast, hosted by Dave Isbitski and Caroline Gluck. Each episode is engaging, informative, and features AWS experts on a variety of topics. (You’re not already listing to the podcast⁉️ Well, you should!)
Because of that, I’m especially excited to participate in and announce the launch of a brand new, six-episode podcast miniseries, "Get Schooled on…Architecting." This audio-only training experience from the AWS Developers Podcast and AWS Training and Certification is designed to help you prepare for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Associate Exam
Joining the hosts are Anya Derbakova, a Senior Startup Solutions Architect, and me, Ted Trentler, a Senior AWS Technical Instructor. In each episode, we discuss exam focus areas like Identity Access Management (IAM), scaling, load balancing, and more.
This was a lot of fun for me to participate in and I hope we can bring you more learning in this format in the future. Our objective is to help you learn a bit more about AWS Architecting, without being in front of a screen.
We’re releasing 3 episodes Monday, February 26th, and our first three episodes give a primer on the exam itself and the type of work AWS Solutions Architects tackle daily. Episode 1 introduces the exam format and objectives, while Episodes 2 and 3 do a deep dive into Exam Domains of Designing Secure Architectures and Designing Resilient Architectures.
You'll also have a chance to listen to a walk-through through of a mock exam question in episodes 2-6 and listen to an inside peek at how we approach solving sample problems.
The remaining episodes, launching later in the series on Exam Domains 3 and 4 – Design High-Performing Architectures and Design Cost-Optimized Architectures – will follow the same in-depth format with Anya and Ted.
The series concludes with a recap episode to review key learnings and help assess your readiness to take the AWS Solutions Architect Exam.
