Kristina Bartley brings a wealth of experience to AWS, having spent over 18 years in the IT industry. Her journey with AWS began in 2019 as a DCO Manager in Eastern Oregon. She later transferred to Northern Virginia in 2020 and advanced to the role of DCO Area Manager in 2021. Kristina holds a bachelor's degree in Information Technology & Engineering and has a rich background supporting tech companies in Alaska and Washington state through network engineering, system and database administration, and people management. Known for her passion for ID&E (Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity) π, people development, and innovation, Kristina is dedicated to continuous learning π and upskilling in new technologies every year. Outside of work, she enjoys cycling π΄ββοΈ, beer adventures π», travel βοΈ, and spending quality time with her fiancΓ© and their German Shepherd π.
Kristina shared her career journey, highlighting her transition from supporting tech startups to taking on leadership roles at AWS. She discussed the unique challenges faced in different regions π and the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in the fast-paced tech environment. A passionate advocate for DEI, Kristina emphasized the significance of fostering an inclusive workplace. She shared initiatives at AWS aimed at promoting diversity and supporting career development, and her proactive approach to mentoring and guiding her team. π
