Jonian kicked off the session by introducing AWS Marketplace, a curated digital catalog where customers can find, buy, deploy, and manage third-party software. This simplifies procurement for customers who are already on AWS and offers software vendors a streamlined way to monetize their products. "The AWS Marketplace has over 300,000 active subscribers and includes 15,000 listings from 4,000 independent software vendors," Jonian explained.
AWS Marketplace supports a variety of deployment models, including SaaS, Amazon Machine Images (AMIs), containerized products, machine learning models, and data products. Jonian emphasized the importance of creating separate AWS accounts for marketplace activities to streamline operations and manage revenues effectively.
The episode covered various pricing models available on AWS Marketplace, such as:
- Subscription-Based (Monthly/Annual Contracts): Ideal for customers who prefer predictable costs and long-term commitments.
- Usage-Based (Pay-as-You-Go): Provides flexibility for customers to pay based on their usage, making it easier to test and scale.
- Free Trials: Allows customers to try products before committing to a purchase, enhancing their buying confidence.
- Private Offers: Tailored pricing and support packages that are only visible to specific customers, useful for stealth mode startups seeking early revenue.

"Listing on AWS Marketplace gave us a stamp of approval that builds trust with our customers," Brandon noted. He also discussed the benefits of AWS's partnership programs, which offer resources and support to optimize listings and engage with potential customers.
Brandon demonstrated Vantage's capabilities, including:
- Comprehensive Cost Reports: Allows businesses to track spending across various cloud services and allocate costs to specific business units.
