I am super excited to provide more info about one of the events running as part of the AWS GenAI Loft London series. On October 8th, we will have a day put together by developers for developers.
Step into the future of software development, where coding assistants, generative AI, and open-source tools converge to transform the way we build applications. Today, you'll hear from leading industry experts and get a firsthand look at the powerful innovations shaping the next generation of developer tools.
From rapid prototyping with Amazon Bedrock Studio and next generation developer tools such as Amazon Q Developer, to hands-on AI integration across multiple languages, this event is your gateway to the cutting edge of development.
The developer-led sessions, interactive workshops, and exciting demos, will give you new knowledge and ideas that you apply in your every day role as a developer.
We will have a main breakout area, and a space dedicated for more hands on content, including an Amazon Q Developer workshop that I will be running in the afternoon. The doors will open at 8:30am and we will wrap up at 4pm.
Get ready to reimagine what's possible, and start explore the future of development today!

Main track

9:00am - 9:30am Opening Keynote - Boaz Ziniman, Head of Developer Relations, EMEA at AWS
This session will look at the future of development and Amazon’s vision. It will explore the role of developer and development, and how coding assistants like Amazon Q Developer are going to make developers more productive and reduce friction on experimentation and innovation.

9:35am - 10:05am Improving developer productivity with Amazon Q - Matt Lewis.
In this session AWS Hero Matt Lewis provides a hands on guide on how using Amazon Q Developer can help developers reach new productivity heights, across all the activities they do.

10:10am - 10:55am - Getting started with generative AI - Laura Verghote.
In this session, Laura will show you how developers can get started generative AI, taking a look at the features of Amazon Bedrock and navigating topics such as foundational models, evaluation, knowledge bases, agents, fine tuning, and more. Expect plenty of code and demos that bring this topic to life.

10:55 - 11:10am - 15 minute Morning Break

11:10am - 11:40am - Getting started with Amazon Bedrock Studio - Mohammed Fazalullah Qudrath.
Amazon Bedrock Studio is a web-based generative artificial intelligence (generative AI) development environment that accelerates the development of generative AI applications by providing a rapid prototyping environment with key Amazon Bedrock features, including Knowledge Bases, Agents, and Guardrails. This session will walk you through the key features and show you how you can get started.

11:45am - 12:25pm - Lets build an app from scratch in 30 minutes using Amazon Q Developer - Veliswa Boya.
Starting with an clean project, lets build a quick application in 30 mins from scratch, showing you how you can use some of the capabilities of Amazon Q Developer.

12:30pm - 1:00pm - GenAI Showcase.
A look at startups working on creating next generation developer tools for developers, as well as case studies from the real adoption of generative AI. We will explore new developer tools that use generative AI to improve developer productivity, and learn how developers are using these tools and finding success. We are delighted to have TurinTech AI's CTO Mike Basios share what they are doing to help developers.

1:00pm - 2:00pm - Lunch

2:00pm - 2:45pm - Fireside chat with Massimo Re Ferre

2:50pm - 3:30pm - Open source frameworks to know about when building generative AI applications - Danilo Poccia.
Learn about open source frameworks that help you build generative AI applications. In this talk we will explore several open source frameworks that help simplify the developer experience and help you build your generative AI applications more quickly.

3:35pm - 4:00pm - Demo Time!
We will finish the day with a look at a couple of demos that have been put together to showcase the power of generative AI, and inspire developers on the art of the possible. I am super excited to share that we will have Olivier Leplus and AWS Community Builder Matt Carey showcase their generative AI demos.

Workshop track

We also have some more interactive sessions (Chalk Talks) where you will get to have more input and help drive the session forward, as well as a more traditional workshop where you will sit down and learn about how to get the most out of Amazon Q Developer. Lets take a look at these sessions in more detail.
The sessions in the workshop track have limited space and will be offered on a first come first serve basis.
11:10am-12:00pm - No Python? No Problem! Generative AI for the rest of us - Speaker Dennis Traub
Learn to integrate AI into applications built with languages beyond Python. This session demonstrates using foundation models with Amazon Bedrock, featuring hands-on examples in Java, JavaScript, C#, and PHP. Gain practical knowledge for implementing AI features in your existing tech stacks, and get access to a demo repository to jumpstart your own AI integrations.
12-05pm - 13:00pm - Lets Build an Agent - Speaker Danilo Poccia
This interactive session which will walk you through how to get started building Agents
Speaker will be live coding an example, but interacting with the audience to help them shape what is produced.
2:00pm - 4:00pm - Amazon Q Developer workshop - Host Ricardo Sueiras
In this hands on workshop we will walk through installation and configuration of the Amazon Q Developer agent, and then walk you through some hands on labs that show you how to use it. I will also have some limited edition Amazon Q Developer challenge coins to give away!
