The second key topic was multi-region strong consistency for global tables, offering zero data loss capability and strongly consistent reads across regions. The feature, currently in preview, requires a minimum of three regional replicas and guarantees that writes are immediately available across all specified regions. The presenters demonstrated this through a live demo showing minimal latency increases compared to eventual consistency models, making it particularly valuable for industries requiring absolute data integrity.
