Rising Against RTO: One Card at a Time in The Legend of Lambda

What’s RTO? You know exactly what it is.

Published Jan 14, 2025

Intro

The Legend of Lambda: Rise Against RTO is a roguelike card battler inspired by Slay the Spire, where you take on the ultimate workplace villain: RTO. The game features a randomly generated map, challenging encounters, varied card mechanics, loot collection, and so much more. Developed with Unity and AWS, it combines tech humor, strategic gameplay, and workplace satire, offering an epic and witty way to fight back against the RTO mandate. Even if victory in the game won't save you from real-life traffic, it's a rebellion worth joining.
This game is a labor of love, built during late-night sessions after my full-time job. By day, I’m stuck in traffic, pissed off due to RTO. By night, I’m exhausted after stuck 2 hours in traffic but blood boiling, channeling that frustration into crafting The Legend of Lambda. Leveraging Unity and AWS services, the game features cloud-inspired terrains, serverless metaphors, and a dash of workplace satire.

Fun Fact

Even if you beat the game, you might still have to drive your butt to work ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
